People of Cayman Island were all grateful to the FirstCaribbean International Bank, who presented a lasting gift to them by helping the monumental task of refurbishing the National Museum building that has been undergoing great renovation followed by the damage in 2004 from the Hurricane Ivan.

“The building is over 200 years old and is one of the few remaining examples of Caymanian architecture and workmanship, restoring it requires a great deal of expertise and resources” the National Museum’s Chairman of the Board, Harris McCoy III said in the press release. “In my time as Chair, FirstCaribbean has been the first company outside of the Ministry of Culture to really come along and help us,” he added.

This was a great goodwill act bought into action by the FirstCaribbean that would also be meaningful for the people of Cayman. “To celebrate our fifth anniversary as FirstCaribbean International Bank, each country management team in all 17 territories in which we operate identified a national cause which the bank could assist through a monetary gift,” Regional Director of Compliance at FirstCaribbean, Anna McLean said. “As a responsible corporate citizen, FirstCaribbean takes much pride in giving back to the communities in which it operates and are pleased to know that the contribution we have made will benefit all of the people of the Cayman Islands, both residents and visitors,” she said.

The generosity of the FirstCaribbean is commendable to the board of the Meuseum as it reiterates their active and deep involvement towards the community.
