Breaking News – PPP and PML (N) principally decide to shake hand to form government in Pakistan
2008-02-21 21:14:07 (GMT) (Caymanmama.com - Pakistan News News)Islamabad, Pakistan: Addressing a noisy press conference, the leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League (N), Mr. Nawaz Sharif announced that they have principally decided to join hands to form a political alliance and form government. Both the parties got a clear mandate by the people of Pakistan in the election of Feb. 18. A point to note is that though both the parties bagged the highest seats for the National Assembly but cannot do so independently.
The parties, that is the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League (N) have agreed to reinstate the 1973 constitution, restore the judiciary and work with the other democratic forces for the development of the country.
Mr. Asif Ali Zardari also mentioned that their alliance will be for both the national and the provincial assemblies. He said they will also request MQM to join their alliance.
