Islamabad, Pakistan: During a meeting of PPP, provincial assembly leaders, which was presided by Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairman of the Pakistan People Party, the newly elected MPA’s voted against forming coalition with MQM. The reason sited for such a stance by the Sindh Provincial Assembly members is due to the attitude and accesses made by MQM on Pakistan People Party office bearers during its 5 year rule

MQM prefers to sit in opposition and promote democracy

Karachi, Pakistan: While speaking to the party workers on Sunday night the Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Mr. Altaf Hussain said that if the coalition is offered as a charity, the party will not accept it. The party prefers to sit in the opposition and promote democracy. In his address he mentioned that the winning parties should avoid issuing provocation statements.

Second thoughts hover over PML-Q

Islamabad, Pakistan: After being defeated in the general elections of Feb.18 the PML-N had declared that they will sit in the opposition. But now it seems that the elected leaders of the party are having second thoughts. Some of the winning candidates have favored power sharing with the PPP.

Musharraf running out of options

London, UK: Close aids and confidants of President Musharraf have quoted that the President of Pakistan is considering, stepping down. He has said that he has run out of options and is considering a safe exit strategy for himself.

Tehrik-i-Taliban ready for talks with the new government

Tank, Pakistan: Baitullah Mehsud, through is spokesman has said that he is ready for talk with the newly appointed government leaders, if they stop the Musharraf’s so called “war on terror”.

Pakistan not to get direct budgetary support

Islamabad, Pakistan: The US might reduce or stop the normal US economic assistance that was given to Islamabad as direct budgetary support.

Musharraf’s exit eminent

Washington, USA: While talking to ABC news, Mr. Biden, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations committee said that it is good that the President of Pakistan is looking into the options of exit, he deserves a graceful exit and the constitution of the country gives an option to the president of the country for graceful exit.

Amin Fahim likely to be the next PM of the country

Islamabad, Pakistan: Amin Fahim has been nominated as the parliamentary leader by the PPP. He is being provided high level VIP security. The police sources said the same level of security is being provided to all other party leaders like Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Shabaz Sharif.
