Trial for police in Sean Bell shooting to start

It was reported by Anthony M. Destefano that Sean Bell, a 23 year old man, was killed by a cop. Early Nov 25, 2006, before few hours his wedding, he was in a conflict with police exterior of an infamous club in Jamaica where he was shot dead.

Nicole Paultre Bell, fiancée of Sean Bell, is expected to be the leading witness in State’s Supreme Court in Kew Garden on Monday. Also three detectives who fired the weapon of killer for almost 50 times will also go on trial for Bell’s sudden death and these were among five plainclothes officers. In this confrontation, Bell’s two unarmed friends, Trent Benefield of 24 years and 32 year old Joseph Guzman, suffered two deadly wound and got struck for four times according to prosecutors, were also shot but they have recovered. Three detectives, Gescard Isnora, 29, Marc Cooper, 40, and Michael Oliver, have decided to have hearing their case in Queens State Supreme Court Judge Arthur Cooperman without a panel of judges.
According to Sanford Rubenstein, an attorney who is along with Michael Hardy on behalf of Bell’s family as well as another two victims, are expecting to get proper justice from the jury. Isnora and Oliver, both the detectives, are charged for the first- and second-degree manslaughter, the most serious charges and sentenced 25 years imprisonment. Attorney of Queens District, Richard Brown argued that the contribution to Bell’s death was firing by them constantly through 9-mm handguns from their department. Oliver fired 31 times, had been posted outside that club.
