Islamabad: The Vice Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party, Amin Fahim, after a meeting with the co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party, Asif Ali Zardari told the media that there are no difference between Asif Ali Zardari and himself. He further said that he is a strong candidate for the position of the Prime Minister of the country.

Agreement to share ministries in the center and in Punjab province made between PPP and PML-N

Islamabad: The two major winners of the Feb. 18th election, The Pakistan Peoples Party and The Pakistan Muslim League (N) have reached a formula of power sharing with each other. They will be dividing ministries in the National Assembly and the provincial assembly of Punjab according to the ratio of seats both have bagged. PPP will take 54% seats in the federal government, PML-N will take 40% and ANP 6%.

Karachi Electric Supply Corporation cornered by PEPCO (Pakistan Electric Power Company)

Lahore: PEPCO has put Karachi Electric Supply Corporation on notice. The Karachi electric company has little time to pay its bills. PEPCO has asked KESC to pay Rs.3.0 billion by the first of April. It has also asked the power company to enter into a power purchase agreement with thwm for up to 300 MW or if the KESC wished PEPCO would be will give them an NOC to enter into a direct agreement with HUBCO power facility for purchase of 500 MW.

India to answer questions about the death of a Pakistani in Indian police custody

Islamabad: The mysterious death of a Pakistani man who had gone to India to watch a cricket match, in the Indian prison has raised many questions. It has jeopardized the goodwill gestures from Pakistan. The arrested person was also denied consular access. The Pakistani authorities have taken serious notice of this issue and have demanded thorough investigation into this matter.

Lahore: Police has found no clues after the suicide bomb blasts on FIA building of Tuesday and no arrests have yet been made. The government offices, government building and all other government installation have been placed under high security alert after the news of presence of 6 more suicide bombers in the city of Lahore.

Washington: Talking about the political conditions of Pakistan, the US State Department official has said any confrontation between the newly elected parliament and the President would shatter the whole political system. Differences between the two might exist and this is the embedded part of the democratic process. But confrontations should be avoided.

Washington: United States focuses more on the tribal areas of Pakistan along side the Afghanistan boarder. She said United States wants Pakistan to control the influence of extremists in these areas.

Karachi: The KSE 100 index cross the 15,000 points mark during the days trading session. At close of the days trading the KSE-100 index stood at 17, 171.42
