Amin Fahim supports Zardari for Prime Ministers position

Islamabad: The meeting between Zardari and Amin Fahim did not bring any good results. The outcome was not clear but speaking to newsmen after the meeting both the leader did not seem to be in a good mood. Amin Fahim reiterated that being the President of Pakistan People’s Party, he was the strongest candidate for the post of Prime Minister. He said that his position of the President of the PPP is more important to him than the position of the country’s president or the position of speaker of the National Assembly. He said that if Mr. Zardari runs for the post of Prime Minister he will be the first person to support him.

Islamabad: The Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Muslim League together have started to work on their agenda of controlling the price hike. Along with resolving the issues of forming the government and bring political stability in the country the parties are working out strategy to curb high prices of food items and petroleum. Also they are working over the issue of increasing trade and fiscal deficits.

Differences occur in Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League (N) over division of strategic ministries

Islamabad: Power sharing formula agreed upon by the winning political parties has led to occurrence of differences between them. Division of ministries is under discussion and is the grey area where they need to create an understanding. Ministries of defense, foreign affairs, finance and interior ministries are yet to be decided upon.

Lahore blast – US to help Pakistani law agencies in investigation

Lahore: The Tuesday blasts that rocked Lahore have created a problem as the local investigator have not found any clue yet. The police and FIA official had requested help of US investigator through the interior ministry. The US forensic and technical experts team will be arriving soon to help solve the cases of bomb blasts.

Human Rights Commission of Pakistan demand call for high level investigation

Karachi: Zohra Yusuf and Iqbal Haider, the human rights commission of Pakistan officials have demanded high level investigation into the death of Pakistani citizen in the Indian jail. The death that could have occurred due to police brutality and torture and was hidden upon until this month and was only made official after the release of Kashmir Singh.

Food shortage threats to Pakistan

Islamabad: The government has been warned by the environmentalists that Pakistan faces serious threat of food shortage due to the decline in production of food crop which is attributed to shortage of water and climatic changes. High rising pollution in the country is also a vital factor that is leading to decrease in production of food crop.

Washington: US must refrain from one sided action to secure Pakistan Nuclear assets. This was stated by the South Asia experts of the US. The view that any unilateral action by the US will not reap required results and will worsen the situation.
