Islamabad: Asif Ali Zardari seems to be winning the political game for now. He has won the support of one of the major opposition party that had nominated their candidate for the post of Prime Minister of the country, the MQM. MQM had created an alliance with Pakistan Muslim League (Q) the pro Musharraf party and had decided to sit in the opposition benches. They had together nominated Dr. Farooq Sattar of MQM to be the opposition leader and his name was forwarded for the position of Prime Minister.

MQM has now withdrawn Mr. Farooq Sattar’s name and have promised unconditional support to Asif Ali Zardari after Mr. Zardari’s telephonic discussions with the chief of MQM yesterday.

Pakistan People’s Party’s teenaged chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be announcing the name of Prime Minstrel candidate today in the evening.

At present Mr. Zardari has seem to won the political battle. But it is yet to be seen how far he will be able to keep these alliances intact as his party and the country as a whole faces to many challenges.

As per the past precedents political parties and their leaderships have kept their personal benefits ahead of the benefit of the country and have always successfully walked away with the booty unharmed and unaccounted for. When and how will they betray the trust and expectation of people is yet to be seen or will they this time sincerely work for the collective interest of the country.
