National Assembly elects the new Prime Minister of the country
Islamabad: The mandate of people of Pakistan finally took its shape. The newly elected members of the National Assembly voted for Yusuf Raza Gilani for the position of Prime Minister of the country. The National Assembly session was filled with emotions where Bilawal Zardari watch the proceeding with tear in his eyes.

Islamabad: After being elected as the new leader of the parliament, Mr. Gilani, in his address to the National Assembly ordered immediate release of the members of judiciary including the sacked Chief Justice, Mr. Iftikhar Chaudhry, and this announcement led to their immediate release from house arrest.
US official to meet new government today
Islamabad: Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte and Assistant Secretary Richard Boucher have arrived in Islamabad to hold meeting with the newly elected government leaders. They are also scheduled to hold discussions with the leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Mr. Nawaz Sharif.
Pro Musharraf parties maintain lull while Musharraf’s policies come under fire
Islamabad: Pro Musharraf political leader remained in uneasy calm while the new ruling coalition partner criticized Musharraf’s policies and demanded immediate restoration of 1973 constitution.
Karachi Stock Exchange gains 188 points on Monday
Karachi: With political sanity returning to the country and after the election of the leader of new parliament the Karachi Stock Exchange trading session also showed a jump of 188 points leaving the KSE-100 index at 15,182.38
