London Heathrow new terminal –more flights grounded

London: About 20% flights were canceled by British Airways on Friday which were to operate from the new terminal. On Thursday British Airways canceled 34 flights and were tackling the enraged passengers on baggage delays.

Iraq – US planes bomb the city of Basra

Basra: The city of Basra faced severe bombing by the US led allied forces. Their target was the Mahdi Army. 120 protesters were killed in the attack.

Howard Dean pull breaks on Hillary and Obama

Washington: Hillary and Obama were stopped from creating a split in the party. The chief of Democratic Party has asked them not to create a divide within the party during their race for the White House. He said that who ever wins will have to work to maintain and promote unity in the country.

Russia – US differences on US missile shield

Washington: Little headway was made in the talk between the US and Russia on the disputed missile shield. As a confidence building measure the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Robert Gates the US Defense Secretary offered Russian access to the facilities of the proposed US shield sites in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Cuban allowed to use Mobile phones

Cuba: The Cuban government lifted the ban of using mobile phone by the ordinary Cubans. Mobile phones are luxury item in Cuba and were being used by the foreigners and the government employees only. The Cuban government, on Friday, lifted the ban on use of mobile phone for Cubans.
