Atlanta, Georgia (AP): CNN reported that rapper T.I. has finally admitted to having illegal machine guns and firearms. However, he can avoid a long prison sentence by educating kids for at least 1,000 hours and encouraging them not to repeat the mistakes  he did. He must tell them the dangers of gangs, drugs and guns. After the hearing, T.I. or Clifford Harris told reporters, “I’m looking forward to turning this negative time in my life into a positive. I know I have a long road of redemption to travel.”
On Thursday, Harris was found guilty of possessing illegal silencers and machine guns.  Officials said that after completing community service, he will be spending 12 months in prison, although his imprisonment period can be decreased or increased depending on his good behavior and fulfilment of the deal terms.
David Nahmias, US Attorney, said that T.I. will be remaining “under strict bond conditions” in the next year. He said that T.I.’s sentence has been deferred “to allow him to perform a unique and extensive program — at least 1,000 hours — of community service. That service will focus on using his high public visibility and his talents to tell at-risk young people about the mistakes he has made and to educate them about the dangers of violence, guns, gangs and drugs.” Nahmias said that if Harris fails to fulfil the obligations, it will subject him to “much longer prison sentence.”
Harris said that “I’d like to thank God for blessing me with a second chance in life and success.”
