Former Vice president Al Gore has launched a comprehensive multi-million dollar, three year nation-wide program as a deliberate effort to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions by the U.S.. He  will appeal to the common citizen to reduce their emissions by informing them more about the potent greenhouse effects of increased emissions and it will also try to enlist the support of elected officials in order to achieve this.

This campaign will include massive advertising, online campaigning and cooperation with the groups at grassroots’ levels in order to make the public aware about global warming. In Al Gore’s words, “We are trying to get a movement happening in order to switch public opinion so that our leaders feel. Wow, we really need to make this a top priority issue.” He says that this movement will be large enough and will be comparable in size to the human endeavors which were done to end fascism in Europe and put a man on moon.
The main sponsor of this program is the Alliance for Climate’s Protection campaign also called “We”. This Alliance will give $300 million for this project over a period of three years.

Some money will come from Mr Gore himself. The Alliance’s Cathy Zoi said that Mr Gore had contributed amount from the Noble prize money of $7,50,000, the amount won from his book “ An Inconvenient Truth” and the movie based on it and a personal matching gift. However, Zoi declined to reveal the whole amount that Mr Gore had agreed to contribute.
