Clash between the lawyers groups spark city wide violence

Karachi: The clash between two groups of lawyers gave a chance to the riot mongers to spread violence in the city of Karachi. Over 50 vehicles were torched, a building that housed lawyer’s offices was set ablaze and the Malir City Bar was set on fire. The violence paralyzed the life in the city and caused traffic jams. The incident left 13 people dead.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar holds previous government responsible for mismanaging economy

Islamabad: Ishaq Dar unveiled the exact to date financial figures in a press briefing yesterday. The figures gave a gloomy picture of ailing economy and blamed the previous government of fudging figures and economic mismanagement.

United States lifts military coup related restrictions on Pakistan

Washington: With the political horizon of Pakistan clearing, the US has lefted the ban imposed by it due to the non civilian rule in the country.

Pakistan and India’s foreign ministers to meet on May 21, 2008

Islamabad: Foreign ministers of India and Pakistan will be meeting in May. Pranab Mukherjee, External Affairs minister of India will be arriving in Pakistan to review the progress of the forth round of talk between the two countries.

Karachi Stock Exchange looses 125 points

Karachi: The Lahore incident that left the former law minister injured followed by the out break of violence in Punjab, ruled the sentiments at the Karachi Stock exchange. The 100 index fell by 125 points.
