Pakistan among 36 countries that face food shortage

Washington: Pakistan has been named in the 36 countries that face food shortages long with India, Indonesia, Egypt, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Haiti and Peru. The shortage of food in Pakistan has been attributed to insecurity and past floods.

Significant progress made between China & Pakistan

Beijing: (APP) Talks between the President Pervaiz Musharraf and the Chinese leadership has started to bear fruits. Both the countries have signed new agreements and have agreed on various areas for co-operation.

MQM to sit in opposition in SIndh Assembly

Karachi: MQM decided to sit in opposition in the Sindh assembly. Their decision announcement was followed by immediate press conference by Ms. Shazia Marri, SIndh Information Minister who requested the MQM to review their decision and create working relationship with Pakistan Peoples part in the best interest of SIndh.

Taliban issue in Afghanistan can be solved with Pakistan’s help

Kandhar: (AFP) Violence in Afghanistan can be curbed with Pakistan’s help; this was stated by the French Foreign Minister during his visit to Afghanistan.

Tribal areas – peace soon

Islamabad: Two rival sects in the Tribal areas of Pakistan have agreed to cease fire and hand over bunkers and their positions to the security forces. The government is hopeful that the law and order situation in the tribal areas will start improving soon.
