Users want to save Windows XP
2008-04-15 16:30:56 (GMT) (Caymanmama.com - Featured News)Seattle, Washington: With the latest decision of Microsoft Corp to pull its Windows XP edition from the market, numerous fans and users of the 6 year old operating system in June have papered the Internet with various blogs, petitions and cartoons so as to stop Microsoft from retiring its XP version. However, according to users, Windows XP is much better than Microsoft Vista. Vista was launched last January and faced a lukewarm response from users as it was incompatible with numerous programs leading to security pop ups.
The decision of Microsoft to remove Windows XP is a big scare for both users and retailers and it is the main cause of panic. According to Galen Gruman, a technology journalist, had a word with numerous users of Windows XP and soon found that his distaste for Windows Vista was widespread. Galen Gruman said, “It sort of hit us that, wait a minute, XP will be gone as of June 30. What are we going to do? If no one does something, it’s going to be gone.”
In order to save the Windows XP edition, Gruman started the Save XP Web petition where he has gathered more than 10,000 signatures since January and numerous comments from fans of XP edition users who want Microsoft to retain its XP version till it comes out with a new version of Windows in the year 2010. In one of the petitioner comment, they say that they are ready to downgrade from Windows Vista to Windows XP edition.
