Jackson, Mississippi: When Keith Beauchamp, an African American teenager tried interracial dating, his parents told him a tale of Emmett Till who was killed for whistling at a woman of white origin. The story of Till was sealed in the mind of Beauchamp and when he became a filmmaker in New York, the slaying of Till was his first project.

The documentary by Beauchamp based on the true incident of Till death in the year 2005 made Federal Government to reopen the case of 1955. Last year, jury declined to indict Carolyn Bryant Donham, object of whistle with a charge of man slaughter.

Beauchamp documentary and his rare expertise to persuade people to raise buried secrets of civil right era have earned him a strategic collaboration with FBI. Presently, Beauchamp is filming upon a series of documentaries that are based on the killing during the civil rights movements. Any new evidence or fact that is found by Beauchamp will be shared with FBI for Cold Case Unit that deals with crimes that went without punishment.

Beauchamp said that he is able to bring out witnesses because he is not a law enforcement officer. Beauchamp added, “For the first time in history, they are allowing a filmmaker to assist them in setting up a justice-seeking atmosphere that will allow eyewitnesses who may have information to feel comfortable coming forward.”
