New Delhi: Nirmala Despande widely known as ‘Didi’ died a peaceful death yesterday. She was known to the people in the Indo – Pakistan region for her selfless work as peace activist.

World’s longest sea bridge inaugurated in China

Shanghai: (Reuters) The world’s longest sea bridge was inaugurated yesterday. Made with the cost of $1.7 billion the bridge links the financial hub of China i.e. the city of Shanghai to the port city of Ningbo shortening the distance of 4 hours to 2 ½ hours.

Bio fuel responsible for hike in food crop prices

Washington: (AP): Ethanol, the bio fuel and its growing industry is totally responsible of the hike in prices of food crops. This was revealed by the chief economist of the US Agriculture Department.

Egyptian engineered truce not acceptable to Israel

Jerusalem: (AFP) War happy Israeli minister rejected to accept peace in the Gaza Strip. Mr. Meir Sheetrit, the interior Minister of Israel said Israel’s acceptance the truce proposal will give Hamas a chance to boost its military capability.
