More than 400 passengers were asked to evacuate New York City’s N train due to a derailment this Sunday, causing thousands more to find a new route to commute. Charles Seaton, a transit spokesperson said, “We’re working to have service resume by the morning rush, I expect that it will.”

The two subway cars of southbound N train slipped off their tracks when they were about to enter the station roughly100 feet from the 57th Street, Seventh Avenue station. According to a spokesperson, the car slipped off from their track as one wheel of each car was derailed.

After this accident, ambulance rushed immediately to the scenario to help the injured. Only two among 449 passengers complained for minor injuries and after their treatment they are released. After the accident, the conductor and train operator walked out from the cars to talk to passengers as well as taking a head count, told by Seaton.

Even the service was taken out by an R train and this train was pulled behind the immobilized N. Firefighters, and about 100 were responded to accident and assisted the passengers board the ‘rescued train.’ This way, the travelers stepped from one to another train without the need of climbing down to the track, according to Seaton. Josie Chacon, a 19 year old Manhattan resident said, “Most people were coming out like nothing happened.”
