‘Iron Man’ debuts with second best premiere

According to the studio estimates on Sunday, it is the second best premiere for a non-sequel ever, behind that of the first Spiderman movie that premiered with nearly $114.8 million.
The film also made $96.7 million abroad in 57 countries in which it began to open on Wednesday, making a worldwide total of $201 million. The movie features Robert Downey as a billionaire designer of arms, Tony Stark, a womanizer who becomes a super hero by making a high-tech suit and mending his methods of living after he is captivated and sees that how devastating the weapons are made by him. The director of the film is Jon Favreau and the other stars featured in the film include Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard.
Despite the huge opening of the film, the overall business of Hollywood is down as compared to the last year’s same weekend when the movie Spiderman 3 was released and had made a debut of $151.1. The opening of ‘Iron Man’ was the 10th largest of all time and 4th biggest for a super hero movie. The next production of Marvel, ‘The Incredible Hulk’, is scheduled to arrive in June starring Edward Norton and distributed by the Universal.
