Actor Morgan Freeman to change his typecast

He feels sick to play good principal, cop and God. Freeman has been nicknamed “Mr. Gravitas” due to the kind of roles he has been performing and he wishes to remove that image.
Freeman states, “There’s a finite number of characters who are like that before you start repeating yourself ad nauseam. I think that’s the bigger danger than being Mr. Gravitas.” He continued, “You look at your last work and say, ‘That’s four characters in a row that said, did, thought, acted the same. They’re going to find me out any minute now.’”
With his venture into Broadway, Freeman wishes to change his image and is looking forward to an opposite role to that of “Mr. Gravitas” where he performs a role of an insured man as “bleary bum.”
Morgan Freeman, 70, along with Peter Gallagher and Frances McDormand will perform in “The Country Girl” produced by Clifford Odets 1950’s drama. Morgan Freeman plays the role of Frank Elgin, an aging actor who is facing issues of alcoholism and insecurity. Usually Freeman is know in movies as ‘Million Dollar Baby’, ‘Glory’, ‘Driving Miss Daisy’, theater will give him a fresh image.
Morgan Freeman wants a change and he’s on the right track to get it.
