Cannes Film Festival offers premiers to fit any taste

Cannes, France (CaymanMama.com)– For film lovers, the Cannes Film Festival holds a special place as it offers lush celebrity-filled parties and film premiers that takes place on Wednesday. The most anticipated question that bothered every film lover was the question whether “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” could compete with independent films.

Every ones knows the dual nature of Cannes festival yet the festival holds something for all. The Cannes Film Festival opens with Fernando Meirelles “Blindness” that portrays a story of an epidemic where people lose their sight. The cast of this movie includes seasoned actors like Danny Glover, Mark Ruffalo, Gael Garcia Bernal and Julianne Moore. The movie is based on the story of Portuguese Nobel prize winner Jose Saramago’s novel.

For critics, “Blindness” is a motif of dark cinema. However, on the other side, Jack Black is publicizing “Kung Fu Panda” where a panda loves martial art. Jack Black made dramatic entry where he entered by a boat and came along with 40 people who where dressed in panda suits. In the movie “Kung Fu Panda” Black is the voice of main character and showed kung fu movies to the cheering crowd. Well, “Kung Fu Panda” that is being premiered on Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival is not competing with “Indiana Jones.”
