Pakistan Government takes baby steps to solve internal issue of Electricity
Islamabad: With the shortage of 4000 MW of electric power, the worst ever power shortage in the country, the government has once again tried its previously failed move of adapting to day light saving time. The clock will move 1 hour ahead on the first of June and markets will close at 9:00 PM sharp.
The government will also open tender to import electricity of around 2500 MW. The government departments have been instructed to shut of the air conditioning from 8:00 am to 11 am and half of the street lights will remain closed from June till the end of August.
Nawaz Sharif keeps mum on taking up resolution in joint session
Islamabad: Upon his return to the country the chief of Pakistan Peoples Party, Asif Ali Zardari has said that the party is drafting a resolution for the reinstatement of deposed judges and that this resolution will be presented in joint session of the parliament. Nawaz Sharif and his party preferred to consult their legal experts on this issue. The joint resolution seems to be a clear deviation from the previous declarations announced by the party. However, Mr. Zardari remained firm on tagging along with Nawaz Sharif in setting up on PML-N led government in Punjab.
Prisoner’s exchange – paving ways for peace in Waziristan
Tank: In a move to create peace, the Tehrek –e- Taliban and the government exchanged prisoners. The Pakistani wing of Taliban released 12 security personnel in exchange of 40 comrades. The Pakistani military spokesman also confirmed that the security forces are being moved to other areas allowing the people who left the homes to return back.
Man suspected of spying for the US killed in Mirali
Miramshah: A body of a person name Feroz Khan was found with a note that he was killed for spying fo the US. The note explained that Feroz Khan has admitted the fact the he us was a US spy.
Slow trading session at Karachi Stock Exchange on Wednesday
Karachi: After a high speed trading session of Tuesday, the stock exchange witnessed cautious buying from all counters. The KSE-100 index gained a modest 50.94 points leaving the index at 14,593.44 points at the end of the days trading session.
