Salt Lake City, Utah (CaymanMama.com)– CNN reported that a robotic firm, Sarcos Inc., situated in Salt Lake City and under contract of the U.S. Army, has developed a 150 pound robotic suit made of electronics and aluminum which is able to multiply the strength of the wearer by at least 20 times.

The robotic suit senses the movements of the wearer and amplifies them almost instantly. The U.S. Army looks forward to the soldiers wearing the suit in combat. Before the suit comes into use, the developers need to increase its battery life and overcome the cost barriers. The battery used in the suit currently only lasts for about 30 minutes.

Stephen Jacobsen, the suit’s chief designer, says that everyone likes to be a super hero and this suit is capable of increasing the human capabilities and strength. The robotic company had also developed mechanical dinosaurs for the ‘Jurassic Park’ of Universal Studios. Army personnel look forward to the suit as the soldiers will be able to unload heavy boxes of ammunition from the helicopters, lug pounds of gears over the rough terrains and even repair the tanks which break down at inconvenient locations.

The company also envisions the factory workers using the suit to do manual labour easily, the fire fighters carrying stairwells from burning buildings more quickly and easily and disabled people making use of the technology for their advantage.
