2008-05-19 15:16:58 (GMT) (Caymanmama.com - Health News News)La Crosse, Wisconsin (CaymanMama.com) — Brad Williams is gifted with a rare ability of remembering memories. Give him a date and he will tell you what exactly he was doing during that day along with the world events that occurred during that day. However, Williams is one of the three people in the world that are known to have autobiographical memory. Researchers of the California University said that Irvine is believed to have hyperthymestic syndrome that means excessive remembering.
Usually, memories fade away with time but in the case of Williams, his memories are carefully etched forever. Williams, 51, plainly said, “It’s just there.” Along with Williams, the Californian researchers carried a study on two other cases of hyperthymestic syndrome where they wish to find some new insight into the way human memory works. The main idea behind the study of Williams is the help failing memory.
However, Williams never knew about his memory until Eric, his brother told him journal ‘Neurocase’ where an article was published upon hyperthymestic syndrome. Williams said, “My brother in California saw this and said, ‘She sounds like you. Why don’t we talk to folks at Irvine?” It was Irvine where Williams was quizzed by researchers and was diagnosed with hyperthymestic syndrome.
