Gas prices keep holiday travelers off the streets

San Antonio, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — With the increase in the prices of gas, holiday drivers are facing a bad time as now they have to stay at home and not to travel for making their holidays a real blast. According to the AAA motorist organization, gasoline prices have faced a rise which has forced the holiday planners to stay away from the roads. As reported by the AAA organization, the rate of a gallon of gas has considerable rose to around $3.936, which is quite a high price as compared to the last year’s rate of $3.23 per gallon of gas.

As the prices of gas have been gushed, most of the drivers have accepted to stay back at their homes. Also, the AAA reported that since the year 2002, Americans have been driving largely over the weekend of the Memorial Day but now they are planning to pull back themselves and drive less.

According to Mike Pina, the spokesman of AAA motorist organization, it is expected that most of the people are planning to travel in close vicinity of their homes during their holidays this year along with planning fewer trips as compared to the last year. Most of the travelers have also canceled their holiday plans completely as found by Deloitte & Touche.
