Carter opens up on Israeli Nuclear Arsenal

London (Reuters): Jimmy Carter has said that Israel has 150 nuclear weapons, this was the first time any United States president has opened up about any Jewish state’s weaponry. United States and Russia both have 12,000 nuclear weapons while Great Britain and France have several hundred. Washington is persistent in trying to convince Tehran to abandon its nuclear ambitions.

Iran remains adamant albeit UN orders

Vienna (AFP): United Nations has ordered Iran to stop its uranium enrichment programs. Iran ignoring UN’s orders is at the moment operating 3,500 uranium-enriching centrifuges. With a goal of having 6,000 centrifuges up and running by the end of summer.

Babylon battered by Saddam and US-led invasion –

Babylon (AFP) A city over 5,000 years old built in the Fertile Crescent between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers should be preserved as it tells us about our long forgotten past. Troops from the United States instead decide to build a military base at the site, thereby causing damage to the historical ruins with the building of helipads, passage of armored vehicles, and leakage of oil into the soil.
