Boston, Massachusetts (CaymanMama.com) — In a new study, it has been revealed that the percentage of American children who are portly has started decreasing after a period of 25 years of increase. Dr. David Ludwig of the Children’s Hospital located in Boston has reacted to this positive change by saying that it was a quite motivating finding, but he also pointed out that it could be due to a statistical fallacy in the research.

He just said that it was too early to know that if we were making any progressive change in the problem of obesity of American children. But Cynthia Ogden who is a researcher at the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) said that at least this news can generate a small amount of positive feeling. Some experts said that if the leveling-off is real, it could be because more schools and parents are emphasizing better eating habits and more exercise.

Even so, they and Ogden stressed that it would be premature to celebrate. There have been mixed reactions to this news among the researchers, some of whom feel that this change is genuine and it is because parents are paying more attention to the diets of their children. These experts feel that the decrease in the obesity levels has been caused because parents and school are putting more focus on the exercise regimes and the diet schedules of the children.
