27 countries to face tougher entry rules to travel to US

Washington: (AFP) Travelers to the US from countries such as Germany, France, Spain, New Zealand, Belgium, Britain, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia and Japan etc, who were on the Visa waiver program, will be facing some restrictions. Starting from January the new rules will require the travelers to register 3 days in advance before traveling to the US.

France - Former film star fined for inciting racial hatred

Paris: (Reuters) Brigitte Bardot, the former film star, now animal rights campaigner was fined Euro 15,000 on charges of inciting racial hatred. She had insulted Muslims and had time and again denounced the festive occasion of Eid al – Azha. She has also been criticizing on allowing immigrants from Muslim countries.

Pre-charge detention period – UK amends terrorism bill

London (Reuters) The British government made amendments in the terrorism bill. It has extended the time limit to hold the suspect without charge. The Prime Minister says that holding prisoners for 42 days without charge is the right thing to do for the security of the country.

According to the analysts, the move has been approved by the interior ministry to support Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s sinking popularity.

Fight against Malaria continues – development of malaria parasite blocked

Paris (AFP): The successful laboratory tests that block the reproduction of Malaria parasite have rising hopes of development of drug that can save millions of people around the world from Malaria.

Nuclear program of Iran will not stop says Iranian Leader

Tehran: (Reuters) Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the top Iranian leader said that his country is not perusing nuclear enrichment to build weapons, as these are of no interest to them. Development of nuclear power in Iran is only for producing nuclear energy for the country.
