McCain and Obama looking for change in tax policies
2008-06-12 14:24:03 (GMT) (Caymanmama.com - Government News)New York City, New York (CaymanMama.com) — Both Barack Obama and John McCain have opposite policies when it comes to taxation policies about the ways for raising the revenues required to support government programs while providing economic growth in fair way. However, from the voter’s point of view, one of the most important factors about the taxation policy will be affected by the views of presidential candidates. Well, to answer this concern, a report was released by nonpartisan group of Washington DC that looks forward to answer the major concern of voters.
According to the findings of Tax Policy Center, the perception of common man about the taxation policy of Obama and McCain are not wild and off base plans. For McCain, average taxpayer will face reduced tax bills. Well, for all those who are higher tax payers, they will be more benefited. For Obama, high income group will be paying more taxes where else everyone’s tax will be reduced. Basically, all those who fall in the lower income group will be playing fewer taxes.
In totality, under both taxation policies, American taxpayer will be paying a price for its tax deduction as a part of tax deficit. According to the estimate of Tax Policy Center, over the period of ten years, McCain’s tax proposal will lead to an increase in the national debt with an increase of $4.5 trillion interest. On the other hand, the policies of Obama will lead to an increase in the interest of $3.3 trillion.
In fact, both the policies will be unable to raise the amount as cited by both the Obama and McCain. And both the plans will be unable to raise targeted revenue till the coming 10 years. According to Robert Williams, research associate for Tax Policy Center said that “Distributionally, they’re markedly different. But in terms of their impact on revenue, the two plans are not terribly different.”
