Los Angeles, California (CaymanMama.com) — “The Incredible Hulk” has set box office by fire by raking more than $54 million in the first week while breaking its five years old jinx that ran into cold waters. According to the president at box office Media by Numbers Paul Dergarabedian said, “The Hulk got a second chance, got angry and came back with a vengeance.” He continued, “This was a big question mark going in. The film had a history or a checkered past.”

In the year 203, “Hulk” by Ang Lee movie venture made around $62 million initial weeks and then was unable to draw the crowd. Though the movie grossed net sales of more than $132 million, yet, it was far less than what was expected from its initial recovery at box office. The new Hulk movie “The Incredible Hulk” is financed by Marvel Studios and distributed by Universal. The lead role of Hulk is played by Edward Norton that becomes Hulk.

Along with “The Incredible Hulk”, one another movie that is outdoing its predecessor is N.Night Shyamalan’s “The Happening” opened at number 3 at the box office while raking around $30.5 million. Shyamalan’s earlier ventures “Signs”, “The Sixth Sense” and “Lady in the Water” faced rough weather. According to Chris Aronson, 20th Century Fox’s distribution executive for “The Happening” said that this movie is a tale about an airborne toxic that leads people to kill themselves. He added, “any time you’re coming off an effort like ‘Lady in the Water’ that was perceived as a disappointment, movie-goers and critics tend to be a little gun-shy, but the numbers speak for themselves.”

For audiences, “The Incredible Hulk” was a pleasant surprise while expecting the same stuff from the movie as its earlier version “Hulk.” Commenting upon the “The Incredible Hulk”, the distribution head at Universal-Nikki Rocco said, “with all the naysayers, this is a huge accomplishment.” She added, “for months, they thought this was going to be a bomb.”
