Stockholm (AP): The government’s officials are now legally allowed to eavesdrop. They can now listen to phone calls, view e-mails sent and received nation wide. The bill was approved by 138 votes.
US nuclear assets not safe – thousands of nuclear parts lost
London: (AFP): The British newspaper, Financial Times reported that hundreds of nuclear parts which were with the US air force went missing. Over a 1000 sensitive parts are missing as a result of negligence and blunders like transporting nuclear warheads to wrong destinations.
Oil prices slump on news of increasing oil output by Saudi Arabia
London: (AFP): Oil prices went down yesterday after announcement made by Saudi Arabia to increase the oil out put by 200,000 barrels. Saudia will be confirming its plan to increase the out put after the meeting with other major oil producers, which will be held in Jeddah on Sunday.
Number of suicides jumped to 33,093 in 2007 in Japan
Tokyo: (AP): The elderly in Japan have resorted to suicide due to economic and heath problems. The rate of deaths by suicides have increased by 9% in the past year.
Iranian President maintains his stand on Nuclear issue
Tehran: (AFP): Maintaining his position on nuclear enrichment, the Iranian president said that the world specially the west thinks that Iran will use its nuclear program to make atomic bomb, the fact is exactly the opposite. Iran will be generating nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. He pointed out to the west by saying “In the nuclear issue, the bullying powers have used up all their capabilities but could not break the will of the Iranian nation.”
