Washington (AP): Parhat, detained for the last 6 years by the US military get a favorable decision from the US appeals court. The court directed the US military to transfer him or hold new proceedings keeping in view the courts decision.
Majority of Americans believe in GOD – reveals PEW survey
San Francisco: A PEW forum survey revealed that 92% of Americans believed in God. The survey reports that religion is an important force in private and public lives of many Americans.
Survey places Pakistan in the list of dysfunctional states
Washington (AP): An annual survey has placed Pakistan in top 10 dysfunctional countries alongside African counties in the following order Somalia, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Chad, Iraq, Congo, Afghanistan, Ivory Coast, Pakistan and the Central African Republic.
New dress code for Muslim women in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur (AFP): Kota Bharu, a Malaysian city has announced new dress code for Muslim working women. They would not be allowed to wear heavy make up, bright colored lipstick and high healed shoes that made a tapping sound. They would also have to wear non transparent head scarves that would cover their chests. The measures have been taken to decrease incidents of rape and illicit sex.
Depression – major cause of chest pain leading to fatal heart problems
Chicago (Reuters): US medical researchers found have found out the depression is the main cause of chest pain a year after the heart attack. Mostly smokers who continue smoking due to their depressed state face the threat of chest pain, hospitalization and death.
