150 wounded and 41 killed in Indian Embassy bomb blast in Kabul
Kabul (AFP) At least 150 people were wounded and over 41 killed after a suicide bomber rammed a car laden with explosives in the Indian Embassy yesterday. The terrorist attack is being termed as the deadliest since 2001.
Prisoner exchange deal finalized between Israel and Hezbollah
Beirut (Reuters) The Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Hezoallah chief Sayyed Hassan hasrallah have signed an agreement to exchange prisoners. Under the agreement Hezboallah will release 2 soldiers of Israeli army and Israel will send back 5 Lebanese prisoners.The prisoners swap will take place next week.
EU not too optimistic about talks with Iran to halt nuclear enrichment
Paris: The chief of EU foreign policy, Javier Solana said that he was not too optimistic about the negotiation with Iran on their nuclear enrichment program. However, he expects the discussions to help in bringing results when he meets the Iranian nuclear negotiator by the end of this month.
Britain and Russia relationship remains dented
Toyako (Reuters) The meeting of Prime Minister Gordon Brown with his Russian counter part held on the sideline of G8 summit failed to bring results. While the two premiers smiled for a photograph and shook hands both hoped to establish cordial relationship between the two countries.
Unesco’s World heritage list get fatter with 3 news site
Quebec City (AFP): 3 Asian historic sites were added to Unesco’s world heritage list. The sites that were included are (a) An agricultural site in Papua New Guinea, (b) Hindu temple in Cambodia and (c) historic Malaysian towns.
