Bon Jovi’s concert in the city
2008-07-10 15:11:38 (GMT) (Caymanmama.com - Entertainment News)Manhattan, New York (CaymanMama.com) — Bon Jovi’s fans have a good reason to be happy as the star will be holding a concert in Central Park this coming Saturday. According to police sources, concert goers can show up in the early hours to get access to the spot of prime view.
The city will only allow 500,00 people to attend the concert at the Great Lawn, which was repaired recently.
About 60,000 tickets have already been handed out to people, as the city is assuming that approximately 15% of the lucky viewers who got free tickets would not show up at that time.
In case the crowd exceeds the estimated 50,000, ticket holders would be rotated to the nearby area of overflow. They will be close enough so that they can hear pop classics such as “Livin’ on a Prayer,” but they won’t get the sight of the stage-it will be like listening to the radio at the backyard of the home.
According to Mayor Michael Bloomberg, “We have safety regulations and we’re going to comply with those,” Mayor further added that if it rains on the event day, concert is likely to get canceled as the lawn is at the risk of getting damaged. But as per the reports of the weather forecasters, sunny sky is predicted in the city.
Gale Brewer, city councilwoman, commented it is a “bizarre way to hold a concert.” She further added, “The great thing about the Great Lawn was that everybody could go. This notion of having to run around to get tickets takes away from the space.”
Police has expected that the hard core fans of Bon Jovi would begin to line up from tonight and the numbers will keep on swelling on Friday and Saturday.
