Armed men attack US consulate in Turkey

Istanbul: US consulate located in north of Istanbul City was attacked by armed gunmen. The attack resulted in death of the 6 people including 3 gunmen and 3 policemen.

US to focus on Fata (Pakistan) instead of Iraq

Washington: Quoting Houston Chronicle, the daily Dawn reports that the US has planned to increase the air strik power in order to carry out operation inside the Pakistan’s Fata region citing that the country had to failed to curb insurgency.

China fights terrorism - claims killing “Holy Warriors”

Beijing: 5 members of a separatist group believed to be linked with Al-Qaeda who have been fighting for independence of Xinjiang region dominated by Muslim majority have been killed by the Chinese police. The Chinese police claim the dead were the ‘holy warriors’ but did not forward substantial evidence to prove the claim.

Israel plans settlement expansion in occupied Jerusalem

Jerusalem: The authorities in Israel have planned to build 920 news homes in occupied east Jerusalem denting the already shady peace discussion being held with the Palestinians.

Chrysler Building, New York sold for $800 million

New York: New York skyscraper, Chrysler Building has been brought by Abu Dhabi investment council for US $800 million. The Prudential Financial Inc.’s spokesman said that the they have sold 75% of shares to the Abu Dhabi Investment council. The 25% of its shares are owned by Tishman Speyer Properties, a New York based private property firm.
