New York City, New York (CaymanMama.com) — According to the New York City’s medical examiner office, the names of the doctors who were last seen near the twin towers just a day before the 9/11 attack have been added to the list of the victims of the World Trade Center attacks.

Ellen Borokove, the spokeswoman for the medical agency, showed the media the death certificate of Sneha Anne Philip, 31, who was the become victim of the 2001 terrorist attack. Last Thursday capped the long struggle for Philip’s husband and her family as they recognized her as one of the Ground Zero victims of that fateful event.

In a telephone interview, Philip’s mother, Ansu Philip, 61, said, “It’s a relief. Losing our daughter is bad enough, but having to go through this whole process was terrible.”

Philip was an emergency room doctor at St. Vincent’s hospital located in Staten Island. Her name was added in the list after she was declared dead by the ruling of State Supreme Court in January.

During the course of the investigation, Philip’s body was never found as there was no clear-cut confirmation links on the Ground Zero site.

As per the reports of Marc Bogatin, a Manhattan attorney, Philip was initially regarded as a victim of the WTC attack but later on, she was scratched out of the list. He added further that Dr. Ronald Lieberman, Philip’s husband and also an emergency doctor, had filed the papers with the surrogate court of Manhattan in 2003 attempting to acquire a death certificate so that his wife could be recognized as one of the victims of the attack.

In 2006, the Manhattan surrogate court granted Lieberman the Philip’s death certificate, although they rejected the plea asking the court to refer to her as a victim of the attack.

In January, the appellate court reversed the ruling of the lower court and announced that it was highly plausible as she actually died at Ground Zero.
