Frontier Constabulary Fort raided / blown up my militants
Kohat: 250 militants raided, looted arms and ammunition and blew up the FC fort in Hangu area last night. According to confirmed reports militants besieged the fort and threatened the FC personal to leave the fort or face action. The FC personal were given safe passage to leave the fort leaving their belongings, arms and ammunition for the militants. The fort was blown up by the militants.
PM says operation in frontier to continue
Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the operation in the tribal area will be continued until the foreign elements inside the Pakistani territory are completely eliminated. This step will help in avoiding 9/11 like disasters.
Ruling partners to meet in the last week of this month
Islamabad: Combating terrorism is the first priority of the ruling party of the country. Price hike, food shortages and economic troubles of the country bear no importance for the ruling coalition. The current government in Pakistan does not seem to be interested in bringing economic stability in the country. Fighting terrorism is definitely very important but has the government of Pakistan taken any serious steps towards betterment of economy and welfare of the people of the country.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has called upon all the coalition partners to meet in the 23rd and 24th of this month to discuss the course of action to set up action against militants.
518.57 points lost during trading at Karachi Stock Exchange
Karachi: The traders and investors at Karachi Stock Exchange witnessed another dull trading day. The KSE-100 dipped down further by 518.57 points taking the KSE-100 index to 11,177.31 points.
Government might fix $15 billion export revenue for 2008 – 09
Karachi: Government of Pakistan might extend conditional relief to the textile sector by fixing a tight target of $15 billion as textile export revenue. The textile industry leaders have been invited by the Finance Minister for deliberations on this issue.
