Kansas City, Missouri (CaymanMama.com) — Midwest Airlines announced on Sunday that the company will be flying to fewer locations from Kansas City this fall, beginning the possible “slup” season at Kansas City International Airport. These cuts in the number of flights will create a huge loss for the airline. According to airport spokesman, Joe McBride, travelers should expect fewer destinations and also fewer flights.

McBride also added that the decrease in the services of Midwest is mainly due to the increase in the price of fuel and is, in a sense, linked to the economy. He also reported that there is a very little amount of fallout in the present year but they are still trying their best to come out strong. The most important thing that travelers need to remember is to have good accessibility to the main markets of the country.

Midwest Airlines will reduce their flight services to about thirty to forty percent of the country and much of the decrease will be felt by the primary hub of the airlines in Milwaukee. From the secondary hub in Kansas City, the flights will be stopped to some locations such as San Antonio and San Diego and then will end direct service to Madison, Wisconsin and Orlando, Florida. There will be no flights to Orlando between September 8 to October 20 to resume after that date.
