Peshawar: After hearing the remarks from the Mr. Barack Obama about possibility of US action inside Pakistan, the Governor of NWFP stated that such statements made by the responsible people who are fighting for the President’s position can create disaster for the whole world. The role of PPP government on their part on war against terror is also being questioned by the people of the country.

Obama backtracks from his statement of unilateral action inside Pakistan

Washington: During an Interview with CBS news, the US presidential hopeful Barack Obama back tracked his stance on sending US troops to hunt Osama bin Laden inside Pakistani territory. Obama said that he would prefer to work with Pakistan to combat terrorism and that he would maintain his pressure of the Pakistani government to root out terrorism.

PML-N to take part in the meeting called by the PM

Peshawar: Welcoming the statements on reinstatement of judges, made by the Prime Minister during his speech to the nation Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab praised the PM on his stance and said that PML-N will participate in the meeting called by the government and hoped that this meeting will help in chalking out strategy to root out terrorism from the country.

Stock market hoped to maintain its weekend trend

Karachi: After some emergency measures of using an emergency fund of Rs. 25 billion to rescue traders and investors caught at the CFS counter, the market saw an immediate recovery from its downward trend. The market breather easier after 55 million shares valuing Rs.3.5 billion that belonged to the leading financial institution were lifted.

Smuggling petrol and use of SMS to manipulate stock market to be checked by the government

Islamabad: Smuggling of petrol across the Pakistani boarder into Afghanistan and from Iran into Pakistan is denting the revenue stream of the government. The government also took notice of misuse of short message service for stock market manipulation. The government has issued specific orders to the concerned authorities to put a halt to smuggling of petrol.

As regards misuse of SMS service, the government has handed the issue to FIA and has termed this misuse as cybercrime.
