Islamabad: The decision by the government for temporarily freezing dealers commission and margin of oil marketing companies will help saving Rs.7.5 billion annually. The government of Pakistan took this step in wake of the outcry by the people of the country on the unprecedented rise in the price of petroleum products.

Khar: Following the negative response from the NWFP government, the chief of Tehreek-i-Taliban, Baitullah Meshud has issued waring to the provincial government of drier consequences if it did not stop military actions against jihadis in Hangu. Pakistan government assures UN to provide funds for Benazir Bhutto’s murder investigation

United Nations: The cost of investigation into Benazir Bhutto’s murder could run over $100 million. Pakistani government has sent its assurance of making the funds available to the UN through its Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The investigations could take approximately 14 months.
