Hollywood, California (CaymanMama.com) –  Hip hop artist, Nas is protesting against Barack Obama’s coverage by Fox News. The  rapper joined the activist group Colorofchange.org and MoveOn.org delivering more than 600,000 petitions on Wednesday to the network’s headquarters in New York City.

Nas, whose latest album was released last week, said, “Fox poisons the country with racist propaganda and tries to call it news.” The network has responded by saying, “Fox News believes in all protesters exercising their right to free speech including Nas who has an album to promote.” Fox also took note that Bill Hemmer was scheduled to interview Obama this weekend.

Last month, a Fox News graphic depicted Michelle Obama, the wife of the Democratic presidential candidate,  as “Obama’s baby mama.” Later , the network said that a producer had “exercised poor judgment” during the segment. Prior to that incident, two other Fox personalities apologized for referring to an affectionate fist bump shared by the couple onstage as a “terrorist fist jab” and for joking around about the assassination of Obama.

A new song by Nas titled “Sly Fox” takes a direct aim at Fox News. The song says, “Watch what you watchin’, Fox keeps feeding us toxins … I pledge allegiance to the fair and balanced truth, not the biased truth, not the liar’s truth.”

According to the MoveOn.org, a liberal public advocacy group, and the ColorofChange .org which is an online group of black activists,  signatures of petitioners were gathered online over the entire last month.
