Pakistani neuroscientist Aafia Siddiqui is alive and in US custody says FBI

Washington: With the pressure over the disappearance of Aafia Siddiqui increasing the US authorities finally revealed that Aafia Siddiqui was alive and is in US custody in Kabul. Her lawyer confirmed the same but added that she is injured but alive. Whereabouts of her children who were taken away with her is unknown.

Floods in Rajanpur kill 7 people, displace 100,000

Multan: Heavy territorial rains are responsible for flooding in Rajanpur that killed 7 people including a child, while over 100,000 people have been displaced from their homes.

Pakistan and Afghanistan patch up differences and agree to resume bilateral talks

Kabul: After the meeting of President Hamid Karzai with Pakistan’s Prime Minister in Colombo both the leaders agreed to resume talk that have been called off after the bombing at Indian Embassy in Kabul. The joint statement issued after the meeting of both the leaders said “The president and prime minister decided that their respective foreign ministers will meet to prepare grounds for a framework for close and constructive engagement between (the) two countries to build confidence and develop a common strategy at the political, military and intelligence level’s.”

Militants still active in Swat - 5 girls schools burnt

Mingora: Militant burned down 5 girls schools in Swat.15 militants have been reportedly killed by the security forces.

10 out of 17 K2 climbers confirmed dead

Islamabad: The tour operator confirmed that 10 out of 17 climbers who went to explore the second highest and the toughest mountain in Karakoram range are confirmed dead as the large piece of ice took away ropes that were being used by the climbers for descending from the peak. 6 more are still missing.
