Los Angeles, California (CaymanMama.com) — Ingrid Rivera always idolized rap artist Lil’ Kim. When she learned that the celebrity would show up at a nightclub in Manhattan on Sunday night, Rivera, 24, put on a party dress and high heels, and purchased a very large bouquet of flowers to present to the star.

Authorities told the media that Lil’ Kim never got that bouquet. The party at Spotlight Club was held in honor of the rapper’s birthday and was fully packed; flowers were quite cumbersome and at a point of time, Ms. Rivera and one of her friends handed them to an employee at the bar for safe keeping.

On Thursday, police commented that Syed Rahman, a club employee, was arrested and later admitted killing Ms. Rivera. He now faces a charge of second degree murder for Thursday night’s killing.

At 9:30 on Thursday night, police took Rahman to central booking at the18th Precinct station house. Rahman did not answer questions of reporters and kept his head turned down while he was being taken in the unmarked police car.

Annie Jackson, a neighbor of Rahman, told the media that she was not well acquainted with Rahman’s family but she perceived Rahman as a “quiet and friendly” man. She further added, “I pray to God he is innocent.”

Rivera’s dead body was found Wednesday afternoon in one of the utility sheds on the rooftop of the Manhattan club.

At a news conference, Raymond W. Kelly, the commissioner of police, said Rivera was hit on the back of the head with a metal pipe that was 2 1/2 feet long. As per the comments of a spokeswoman for the medical examiner, Ellen S. Borakove, the cause of death is believed to be blunt force.
