Israel’s preparation to strike Iran’s nuclear facility stopped by the US

Jerusalem (AFP): While Israel’s preparations to attack Iran are in the advanced stages, its request to the US for more weaponry was rejected by the super power on the pretext that attacking Iran will damage US interests in the region. The Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said “The position of the United States is well known. They do not want, for the time being, any (military) action against Iran. Our position is that no option is to be taken off the table but in the meantime we have to make diplomatic progress.”

Russian war games spark outrage in the US

Washington (Dawn news) United States have sent clear signals to Russia that if it does respect the sovereignty of Georgia, the US will sever all diplomatic and economic ties with Russia.

Chicago: (Reuters) Sanda Allen, the world’s tallest woman (7’, 7”) died in a nursing home in Indiana where she had been confined to a wheel chair due to her illness. Her tall height was due to her abnormal growth after the surgery of her tumor at the age of 22.

“National Intelligence Estimate” by Gistaro spells details of Al-Qaeda operations

Washington: (Dawn reports): The report “National Intelligence Estimate” which has been sent as an official document to the President of United States speaks on the strengths of terrorist group that has strengthened itself even after been beaten at different war fronts.

The report says that A-Qaeda is eying the political turmoil inside Pakistan. It has gathered enough strength to hit at different places inside Pakistan and remains to be the most probable source of terrorist attack to the United States.

15 died and 45 get wounded as bomb blast rocks Lebanese city

Tripoli (Reuters): Bomb blasts claimed lives of 15 people leaving 45 injured in Lebanon. The police sources said that the bomb was detonated by a remote controlled device. The bomb was planted at a bus stop where soldiers used to gather. The bomb blast was a part of ‘terrorist bombing’ carried out by the militants who have been fighting the security forces in the country.
