Karachi, Pakistan (CaymanMama.com) — President Pervaiz Musharraf may resign in the coming days, says a senior government official. Musharraf has been ditched by his close allies who held his hands for their political motives. Reference to Pakistan Muslim League -Q, who have abandoned Musharraf.

The three provincial assemblies of Pakistan also voted in favor of impeaching the President and his closest friend, the President of United States has been advised by his top national security advisors ‘not to take the call’ if Musharraf calls. Musharraf finds himself alone at the moment.

Musharraf has been advised my his close aid to take up residence in Turkey where he had spent many days in his childhood. The President is adamant that he will maintain his residence in Pakistan saying that he is not a wealthy person and cannot afford to live abroad. The President’s indemnity and immunity from future prosecution is the core demand by the President.

As regards military’s support, the current chief of army staffs, General Ashfaq Kiyani has stayed away from the mess. He has not given any comment against or in favor of any party involved. Some retried army men have spoken against the President and have favored his impeachment and court trial.

All the juice is being drawn by the local and International media up on the issue of President’s impeachment which is mostly politically motivated. Nawaz Sharif is taking out his grudge with Musharraf as the military leader had been instrumental in toppling Sharif’s government in the 1990’s and since than had kept Nawaz Sharif and family along with Sharif’s present alley Asif Ali Zaradari out of the country with charges framed against them and their cases being tried in local and foreign courts.

Asif Ali Zardari had gained access to Pakistan due to Benazir Bhutto’s continuous lobbing with the US and through the back door diplomacy with the President to allow political parties to resume democratic activities in the country. Asif Ali Zardari should have been thankful to the President of Pakistan for pulling down all charges of corruption against him within and outside the country allowing him to set his foot within the boundaries of Pakistan through the National reconciliation orrdinance which received opposition from all quarters in the country.

Now, with Benazir Bhutto out of the way, Asif Ali Zardari who is in full control of the Pakistan political scene and with more vengeful Nawaz Sharif, both have made ousting the President of Pakistan their life time mission.

Is this the solution needed by the people of Pakistan. How important it is to throw Musharraf out of the political arena? Shouldn’t the present political set up take care in controlling the derailed economy?
