Pakistan Watch Post Musharraf

Karachi (Caymanmama Reporter): Now with Musharraf out of the way, the democratic alliance has no hurdles left. The pending and burning issue of restoration of judiciary can be handled without any threat. The leading coalition can also with distracting their attention can work on the hurting issues of failing economy, rising food prices, industrialization, inflation etc.

The celebration upon Musharraf’s resignation filled the air of the country, marking the end of the rule of military dictator and also the end to Pakistan Muslim League (Q) leaders who hid behind Musharraf’s uniform to gain political and financial advantages. They are still out there in the open field waiting to exploit more chances where they can squeeze the blood of common man to inflate their foreign bank accounts.

Question is Will such things ever end? If PML-Q is now out of the scene will Pakistan People Party members refrain from taking political and financial advantages.

The ruling coalition had promised to reinstate the deposed judges within 72 hours after impeachment of the president. Now that Musharraf has resigned, the coalition parties have little options left. The news of reinstatement of judiciary with 24 hours was circulated by the electronic media yesterday but no confirmed news was announced till late last night, instead, the leaders of leading political parties met, rejoiced the occasion and left.

The repercussion of reinstating the deposed judiciary including the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, will have its own implications on PPP leaders. Will Asif Ali Zardari, be ready to face the music? Will he let the Chief Justice to reopen the case file against the National reconciliation ordinance be tried in the supreme court of Pakistan? What will happen to the cases against Asif Ali Zardari that have been dismissed under the National reconciliation ordinance?

All such questions and many more are left unanswered. The ruling coalition have little time left to decide upon these issue. It seems that a new political crises is brewing for the nation. Lets wait and watch.
