Ruling coalition fails to decide restoration of Pakistan deposed judges, chief justice
2008-08-20 03:40:54 (GMT) (Caymanmama.com - Pakistan News News)Islamabad (CaymanMama.com) — The meeting of the ruling coalition parties held at Zardari House in Islamabad today, for the purpose of deciding the fate of deposed judiciary, ended without any concrete results. While the Chief of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Mian Nawaz Sharif stuck to his stand of restoration of judiciary with immediate effect, the co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party Asif Ali Zardari stressed on maintaining his commitment of restoring the judges through a constitutional package.
The meeting was attended by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and ANP leader Mr. Asfandyar Wali Khan and the selected member of parliament of PPP and PML-N.
The meeting ended without any result with Mr. Nawaz Sharif giving a deadline of 72 hours to Pakistan Peoples Party to clearly decide upon their stance on the restoration of deposed judges including the Chief Justice.
