New Delhi: While all forces are trying to nail down the Muslims as being terrorist, India too had taken into custody many Muslims on suspicion of being involved in blasts in Ahmedabad. The Anti Terrorist Squad, had named an American suspect who’s laptop has been linked to the bomb blasts was allowed to leave the country while the investigations are on. The newspaper report states “Kenneth Haywood left with his family from Mumbai airport for home hours after Indian sleuths probing the blasts said they needed to investigate him.”
Short circuit set Egyptian parliament building on fire
Cairo (Reuters): The three story building of Egyptian parliament in Cairo caught fire which the authorities state was due to electrical short circuit. The three story building remained engulfed in massive fire resulting in injuring six people including police and fire department officials.
Algerian police school bombed - 43 dead
Issers (AFP): A suicide bomb blast in the parking lot of a police school in Algeria left 43 dead and many injured. Candidates had gathered at the police school to give an entry examination. Witnesses report that a car loaded with explosive entered the parking lot and the bombers blew themselves off.
Prisoner exchange carried out between Georgia and Russia
Igoeti (AFP): 5 Russian soldiers were exchanged for 15 Georgian soldiers after the cease fire between the two countries took effect. The exchange of military men is being termed as a goodwill gesture by both the countries.
$2 billion order for missiles placed by India
Mocsow (AFP) BrahMos Aerospace, Russian and Indian joint venture company established in 1998 to design, develop and sell cruise missile has received orders for purchase of missile with a range of 280 kilometers worth US$ 2.0 billion from India.
