Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman - Asif Ali Zardari offers an apology to PML-N

Islamabad: Immediately after the announcement by Mr. Nawaz Sharif on parting from the coalition, Asif Ali Zardari offered an apology and requested the PML-N leader to rejoin the coalition. He said that he cannot tell the whole truth to the nation as some friends from outside and within the country had played an important role Musharraf’s resignation and they do not want immediate restoration of deposed judges.

Justice Saeeduz Zaman named by PML-N as their Presidential nominee

Islamabad: While speaking to the press about the decision of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) to part away from the ruling coalition, Mr. Nawaz Sharif named the party’s Presidential nominee. Justice Saeeduz Zaman, the former chief justice of Pakistan will be the Party’s Presidential candidate for the Sept. 06 Presidential elections.

Government of Pakistan ban’s Tehrik-i-Taliban

Islamabad: Rehman Malik, Prime Minister’s advisor to the Interior announced that the government has decided to ban Tehrik-i-Taliban under the Anti-Terrorism Act. Mr. Rehman Malik told the newspaper yesterday that “We have banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan because of its involvement in a series of suicide attacks that claimed the lives of over 1,200 people.”

Fresh protests to start if restoration of judge delayed

Islamabad: The president of Supreme Court Bar Association has threatened the government that the lawyers will start fresh protests if the deposed judges including the chief justice are not restored soon. The lawyers movement will start new 2 hours peaceful protests from Thursday.

Karachi Stock Exchange down by 180.15 points

Karachi: The fever of uncertain political front catches on at Karachi Stock exchange. With Zardari and Nawaz Sharif locking horns over non fulfillment of terms of contract by Mr. Zardari and Nawaz Sharif seeking delay in Presidential elections, the business activities the Karachi Stock exchange remained dull with traders uncomfortable on the buying counters.

Reports of Nawaz seeking legal advise on the eligibility of Zardari for contesting Presidential elections and off opposing his nomination in the NWFP assembly today along with the decision on the fate of a few months old coalition between the political buddies have loomed over the trading activities at the stock exchange today.
