Sindh High court will get its judges back today

Islamabad: 8 deposed judges of Sindh High Court will return to their offices today after taking oath. With the induction of these eight judges the government starts implementation of its plan to increase the number of judges from 28 to 40 for the period of one year on grounds that additional strength to the fleet of judges will help in fast disposal of the cases.

Power outages disrupt commercial and economic activities - government remains unconcerned

Karachi: For the past 4 days Electricity has been playing hide and seek. The commercial and economic activities have come to a complete stand still. Consumers have been facing up to 12 hours of load shedding. The mega city of Karachi needs over 2200 KW of electricity where as the power producing company is currently producing 600 KW on its own and buying around 500 MW from Pepco and 210 MW from other producers.

The government has also given an approval to KESC to pass on the impact of increase of fuel charges to the consumers, thus adding to the misery of the consumers, taxing common man more with increase power tariff and no electricity at home and work place.

Chief JUI-F sends ‘wish list’ to PPP’s leadership

Islamabad: Tying their support with the fulfillment of the promises, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has asked the PPP leadership to agree on the terms and wishes of the JUI-F and in return JUI-F will foster their support Mr. Zardari for the office of the President.

Announcing Friday as the weekly holiday is among the main conditions forwarded by the political party.

Election commission to announce final list of presidential candidates by month’s end

Islamabad: The filing of nomination paper for the country’s top office has been completed. 32 candidates have filed their papers for the President’s position and a total of 67 nomination papers have been filed.

Election commission of Pakistan will after scrutiny will be announcing the final list by the end of this month.

KSE-100 index sheds 383.37 points

Karachi: The worsening political condition led to panic selling by the traders and investors. The pull out of PML-N triggered the panic in the stock market that already was sailing on low sentiments. The KSE-100 index went down by 383.37 points bringing the index at 9430.29 points.
