Bangkok (AFP): Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej of Thailand declared emergency after the country faced worst violence in the past 10 years that have left one person killed and 44 injured. The protesters are demanding resignation of the Prime Minister and have occupied the main government complex

Rear show of goodwill by India – Day time curfew lifted in Indian held Kashmir

Srinagar (AFP): The Indian authorities have planed to lift the daytime curfew that had been imposed due to the dispute of land in the Indian held Kashmir region. Lifting of day time curfew by the Indian authorities is being termed as ‘goodwill gesture during the holy month of Ramzan.

Egypt’s business tycoon held for order killing of a Lebanese singer Tamim

Cairo (AFP): Hisham Talaat Mustafa, who owns a multi billion dollar real state conglomerate has been arrested for paying two million dollars for killing of Lebanese pop singer Suzanne Tamim. She was brutally murdered in her apartment in Dubai.

Russian President praises EU to their ‘common sense’

Moscow (AFP): With the EU deciding to cut talks on EU-Russian accord but refraining to enforce strict sanction against Russia for their intervention into Georgia, the Russian President while speaking on this subject praised the EU members said “Thank God, common sense prevailed. We saw no extreme conclusions and proposals, and this is very good.”

Work at Tata’s Nano plant stops production amidst protests

New Delhi (AFP): Tata, who has planned to launch world cheapest car by October, might not be able to do so as the production at the plant has been put on hold due to widespread protest in Marxist rules West Bengal state. They now plan to shift the production of 4 door sedan (Nano worth $ 2,264) in another plant.
